The Silver Jubilee Adventure Centre is set in the beautifully quiet town of Crawleyside, Stanhope, in the heart of Upper Weardale. The SJC is a recently refurbished residential centre available to schools, youth groups and uniformed organisations who are keen to experience the great outdoors in LOW COST COMFORT

The old Methodist Chapel & Schoolroom has been converted into a spacious kitchen and dining hall. The kitchen includes a cooker, refrigerator, a first aid kit, and all crockery & cutlery.

The dormitory hut is divided into two separate units each with it's own showering facilities. One unit can accommodate 20 people, the other can accommodate 18.

Each unit suitable for either sex.

A large heated recreation hall can be used for discos/training or indoor games.

A separate Leaders Hut provides a further four beds in two comfortable rooms.

Recently built in 2000 this hut is ideal for as a place for Leaders to escape to or it ca be used as a sick bay if the need arises.

Unlike most traditional activity centres the SJC allows you the opportunity to plan your own activities. You can go walking, rock-climbing or just conduct training events within the grounds without the intervention of anyone else.
